Hathor Pours Two Versions of Minoh Beer’s Peach Weizen
CraftBeerSpot Hathor, a beer pub in Osaka’s Kyobashi area, is featuring two versions of Minoh Beer’s popular Peach Weizen: Wase and Hakuho. Both showcase the aroma of Japanese peaches alongside the fruity character of a traditional weizen.
CraftBeerSpot Hathor, a craft beer pub in Osaka’s Kyobashi area, has announced two versions of Minoh Beer’s Peach Weizen for its November 7 draft lineup.
The beers are Peach Weizen Wase Ver and Peach Weizen Hakuho Ver. Both are fruit beers made with Arakawa peaches from Hakki Farm in Wakayama. The peaches are processed by hand into purée on the day they are harvested, then used generously in the brewing process.
The base beer is a weizen brewed with 50% wheat malt. Clove- and banana-like notes from the weizen yeast combine with the fresh, juicy aroma of peach. The result is soft and gentle on the palate, with peach character emerging as the aroma rises through the finish.
Despite the fruit-forward profile, the beers are not designed to leave a heavy sweetness. Instead, they finish dry and crisp, keeping the refreshing drinkability of beer intact. Tasting the Wase and Hakuho versions side by side should offer an opportunity to compare how the peach varieties shape the aroma and flavor.
Opened in 2015, Hathor is a Kyobashi beer pub with 16 taps, serving a rotating selection of craft beer alongside house-smoked food. Availability may change, so guests should check with the pub before visiting.
