He's from Okinawa. At 29, he studied at an art school in London, and from there he balanced art activities with work at an advertising agency. After that, he moved to Wales with his wife.

In Wales, he had a shocking encounter with Britain's real ale culture. He fell in love with beer as a culture rooted in the local community, and after returning to Okinawa he trained in brewing and launched the brewery in 2018.
