You know, before talking about the beer at Beer Base Takatsuki, I want you to understand the background first. This brewery was launched by Masamoto Kobayashi, chairman of the NPO Cloud Nine, and Akihiro Kawasaki, chairman of the social welfare corporation Tsunagari, working together.

An NPO and a social welfare corporation? At a brewery?
Hop Bro
Kawasaki originally worked at facilities for older adults and later taught social welfare at Ryukoku University. Kobayashi has been involved in support for young people and people shut in at home. The two started this with the idea of providing a place to belong and jobs for young people who struggle with living through beer brewing. The company name, C-style, carries the meaning of "a new option called C, neither A-type nor B-type employment support."

Wow... It's amazing that making beer can become a chance to change someone's life.

And the really impressive part is that the beer is genuinely good. "Tayawaka Ale" uses sencha sourced from a tea shop in Mikawa-Ai, and the first sip is clean and refreshing, almost like drinking tea. It's the kind you can gulp down after work.
Mugi
A sencha beer! What does that taste like?
Hop Bro
The tea's crisp freshness comes in before the beer's bitterness. "HAKKYOU-IPA" is a classic American-hop IPA with a great aroma, a mellow texture, and a gentle bitterness layered on top. They also make a hojicha stout and a chestnut-and-wheat weizen, for a total of six varieties, each in the 600-yen range.
Mugi
A hojicha stout and a chestnut weizen!? They're going hard with tea and Japanese ingredients!

Going forward, they also plan collaboration beers using rice flour, Meyer lemon, and blueberries from Takatsuki, and they're deepening ties with local agricultural support organizations. They also set up at events in Aman Ruins Park, so they're firmly rooted in the community.
Mugi
It's near JR Settsu-Tonda Station, right?
Hop Bro
Yes, it's around across from Aeon Food Style in front of the station. It's a small brewery where tastings and takeout sales are the main thing, so you can just stop by, pick a beer, and head home. In the future, the young people receiving support are expected to take part in the brewing process too, so buying beer will also mean supporting someone's next step forward.
Mugi
Just buying and drinking delicious beer helps support someone...! I want to try Tayawaka Ale first!
