Hop BroMinami Alps Beer is actually a brewery launched in 2022 by Miku Natural Life, a long-established rice retailer founded in 1897.

Hop BroThe brewer, Yusuke Horiuchi, is a certified farmer in Minami Alps City and originally grew grapes. He pours that farming experience into his beer-making.

Hop BroTheir flagship product is 'Biachan.' It's a new-style craft beer that you can drink with a champagne-like feel. And their fruit-based lineup is impressive too: peaches, grapes, and yuzu from Minami Alps City, plus Kyoho plums and La France pears from Fujikawa Town.

Hop BroThe peach version of Biachan won a silver award at the Japan Great Beer Awards 2023. Its ABV is around 6.5 to 7%, so it has plenty of body too.

Hop BroThey do. There's a Hop Aroma series, where you can compare varieties like Mosaic, Saaz, and Cascade. The idea of enjoying hops the way you'd compare wine grape varieties really feels like something from a former farmer.

Hop BroThey even have unusual ones like hinoki beer. There's also one made with Muscat Bailey A, and in total they have more than 12 varieties. It's interesting how this long-established brewery, with 126 years of history, is taking on new challenges using its agricultural know-how.
