Our Days Brewery

Our Days Brewery in Sasazuka has an interesting owner background to start with: he used to be a film producer. He worked on films directed by Tomorowo Taguchi.

It seems the trigger was the pandemic in 2021, when he felt he had to do something about the atmosphere of people being cut off from one another. He thought beer could be an item that helps strangers become acquainted, so in 2022 he opened a small brewery in a residential area of Sasazuka.

The concept is "a small brewery in a small town," and it's tiny: seating for seven, or fifteen at most even standing. But that's what makes it great. They use German-made SPEIDEL brewing equipment, change the malt and hop ratios for each brew, and always have six to seven original beers on tap.

They do have a basic style, but they also develop beers inspired by films, so there is a playful spirit to it. One interesting example is the "Cinnamon IPA," which has a cinnamon aroma rising through the white foam and tastes almost like apple pie. It has notes of roasted apple, cinnamon, and maple sugar.

Their basic policy is to make beers that never sit heavily in the stomach, even if you drink several, while still letting you feel the malt flavor. The second floor is a clubhouse, and on weekends they serve special dishes too, so it's a comfortable place to drop by even alone.
