Adachi Brewery

Adachi Brewery is one you really should pay attention to. It’s a microbrewery in Nishi-Arai, Adachi City, and the founder, Mr. Miyahara, originally worked for a foreign IT company.

It seems the trigger was the pandemic. He had already been inspired by local brewery culture when he visited California and thought, "Someday I want to do this too." Then COVID made him reflect on his life, and he finally started brewing in January 2024.

And what’s even more impressive is that he grows nine different kinds of hops on his own farm. The brewing water comes from Adachi City, the malt is from Germany, and the hops are sourced separately from the U.S. and Germany. He’s even said to be planning to make ale with fresh hops he grows himself in the future.

Very rare. Their regular lineup consists of five styles: PILSNER, PALE ALE, IPA, WEIZEN, and PORTER. The pale ale has a strong hop aroma with citrus notes like passion fruit and pineapple, while the IPA is a classic with a firm, pronounced bitterness. It stays true to the basics, but the seriousness about ingredients is on another level.

There’s a beer stand about an 8-minute walk from Kogei Station on the Nippori-Toneri Liner, and it’s open from noon on weekends. Also, the brewing equipment is electric and energy-efficient, which feels very much like the rationality of someone from an IT background.

Exactly. While building momentum together with local shopping streets in Adachi City, they’re also expanding their base. It really feels like they’re moving with the speed of someone trained in the IT industry. They also have an online store, so if you’re far away, ordering online is a good option.
