Craft Beer Spot Hathor Taps "Neko Nihiki" and Shine Muscat Ale
Osaka's Kyobashi beer pub Craft Beer Spot Hathor has unveiled its draft lineup for 5/21. Standouts include Ise Kadoya Beer’s "Neko Nihiki" and Island Brewery’s "Shine Muscat Ale," with 16 taps ranging from lager to stout.
Craft Beer Spot Hathor in Osaka's Kyobashi is a beer pub where you can enjoy 16 taps of draft beer alongside house-smoked dishes. In this lineup, the first beer to catch the eye is Ise Kadoya Beer’s "Neko Nihiki." It has a hazy appearance like orange juice, with a tropical aroma reminiscent of mango from multiple hop varieties. Although it uses 2.5 times the hops of a standard pale ale, its signature is a smooth finish that makes the 8% ABV hard to feel.
Another recommended beer is Island Brewery’s "Shine Muscat Ale." It uses a generous amount of off-grade Shine Muscat grapes grown at Nonaka Orchard in Nagasaki, with ingredients that were frozen and matured for about a year and a half. Following the positive reception of a prototype released in spring 2024, this release tones down the brisk refreshment while delivering a rich, ripe grape-like depth.
The other drafts are not to be missed either. The lager selection includes "Jukusen," "Spring Lager," "Yuya Boys IPL - Jamboree SP Ver," and "Papa Zaru Lager." The ale selection includes "Echoes" and "Red Ale Real Ale ver," while the IPA lineup features "Kind of Gold Real Ale ver," "Beer no Osho," and "Electro Squash Sour IPA." There is even "Enmusubi Beer Stout Real Ale ver," so the range of styles is remarkably wide. Because you can choose everything from a light pour to a dark beer, it is easy to keep drinking alongside a meal, which is part of this place's appeal. Depending on your mood, this is the kind of lineup that makes you want to work your way through a strong hop-forward beer, then a lager, and finally a fruit beer.
