Himalaya table, a two-minute walk from Kanda Station's west exit, is a homey beer pub where you can relax at leisure with Nepalese food as the accompaniment. With no table charge, it's easy to drop in, and the shop's website even promotes "10 BEERS on TAP," so the presence of craft beer is clearly a major part of the place.

In this April 9 (Thursday) lineup, eight beers with wide variation in aroma and drinkability are featured. Standing out first are strong characters such as Nara Brewing's Belgian wit "Philharmony BELGIAN WIT w/TACHIBANA," Oni Densetsu's single-hop "Kinki Pale Ale," and Baeren's "Onmenbroy-RAUCH BOCK-," whose aroma suggests the toasty character of smoked malt.

Also on the list are the brisk "Hoppukotan Ignition-Session IPL-", the easy-drinking classic feel of "T.Y.HABOR Pale Ale," "Swan Lake Album (Alt)," which should show off altbier-like malt depth, "Brasserie Knot HARBOR (SIPA)," and "ogna Hima Bitter (anniversary beer)." From hop sharpness to malt weight, the lineup has range, making it hard to get bored from the first glass to the last.

On the food side, the menu includes spiced Nepalese dishes, starting with the house specialty momos. Belgian wit and pale ale would pair well with lighter snacks, Rauchbock and altbier with meat dishes, and Session IPL and SIPA with something heavily seasoned. For beer lovers, it's the kind of lineup that makes you want to work through the tap list carefully in Uchi-Kanda while checking each pairing with the food.
