Beer Pub Neko to Azarashi (Mitaka, Tokyo) will be open on Saturday, May 2 from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and has updated its tap list for the first half of Golden Week. Just a three-minute walk from the south exit of Mitaka Station, this small, counter-focused beer pub keeps beer at the center while offering a food lineup that lets you choose snacks to match your drink of the day.
Ten beers with distinct personalities are on tap for the day. On the fruit-forward side, Y Market's "Minamichita Blood Orange IPA," KIX BEER's "Hassaku Ale," and Suntory's "Shonan Gold" stand out. If you want to enjoy firm bitterness or roasty flavors, Minoh Beer's "Stout," Ushitora's "Ushitora Mandayna," and Yokohama Beer’s "Alt" are all strong candidates. From Germany comes Plank Brewery's "Pilsner," while seasonal options include Fujizakura Heights' "Sakura Bock" and Minamiaizu Mountain Brewing's "Aizu Enzan Suppe," giving you a wide-ranging tasting lineup.
Also, BeerHearn's "Pale Ale" is marked as New!, making it one to watch as a first-time appearance. In tune with early-summer weather, the lineup lets you enjoy a broad spectrum of flavors at one place, from a crisp pale ale to a weighty doppelbock and a tart gose.
On the food side, new onion-based menu items have been added. In addition to a new onion and cherry tomato salad, there is potato salad loaded with new onion, chilled tofu topped with plenty of aromatics, and even an onion-slice topping. True to the shop's concept, it looks set to be a day where you can straightforwardly enjoy the pairing of vegetable-based side dishes and classic beer-bar snacks with your beer.
During Golden Week, hours are 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, and 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from May 3 through May 6, with Thursday, May 7 as a regular day off. If there's a label you're curious about, it would be smart to check it out early in the day.
