Kyoto Beer Pub Yumeyomi to Serve nobana Mead and YOROCCO IPA on June 4
Beer pub Yumeyomi in Kyoto's Gion area will hold its weekly Thursday 'Maniac Beer Day' on June 4, pouring mead 'nobana 1st lot' by the glass and offering YOROCCO's 'Sky Walker IPA' on tap. Food will be served until 9:30 p.m.
Beer pub Yumeyomi, located on the second floor in Kyoto's Higashiyama ward near Shijo and Yamato Oji, is hosting its weekly Thursday event, 'Maniac Beer Day!!', on June 4. Hours are 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with food available until 9:30 p.m. It is a relaxed place to drop by for a drink in the Gion neighborhood.
This week, the pub is taking a break from beer and offering mead by the glass. The featured pour is 'nobana 1st lot', made with unheated domestic honey and fermented without added yeast. The shop lists it at 1,000 yen per glass. While mead is not beer, the bar notes that it is often made at breweries and shares some of the same appeal as lambic and other beer-adjacent styles.
The tap beer is YOROCCO's 'Sky Walker IPA'. According to the pub, it is a balanced, minimal IPA rather than a hop-heavy one, closer in feel to a lager-like structure. That makes it a fitting choice for drinkers who want to revisit a classic IPA. Yumeyomi welcomes solo visitors, does not take reservations, and keeps the atmosphere straightforward. The next day's Friday menu will also feature fried sardines, adding another reason to stop by.
