Guest Beer Added Starting April 4

Chuo Line Beer Works is the directly operated brewery of JR Chuo Line Community Design, based in Koganei, Tokyo. With the idea of building a bridge to the city through beer that began at the station, the brewery has been working on craft beer that connects with the local community, starting from hop cultivation by people along the Chuo Line and station staff. In the taproom attached to the brewery, it serves not only its own beers, but also guest beers from around Japan.

The beer introduced as a new tap is "Shadow #99" from U.B.P Brewery in Urawa, Saitama Prefecture. The style is Dark Ale, the alcohol content is 4.5%, and the IBU is 23. In the post, it is described as a beer based on the Kölsch "LaLa Kölsch," which U.B.P Brewery regularly brews, with roasted malt and smoked malt added.

As for the flavor impression, it is described as a beer that, like the role of "shadow" in soccer, maintains a calm character while supporting the overall balance. On the aroma side, the smoky note is said to be a key accent. Chuo Line Beer Works also says it has connected a dark beer for the first time in a while, making this a recommendation for those looking for dark-style beers.

Since it is being offered in limited quantities, those who are interested will want to check it out soon. Being able to enjoy distinctive guest beers from other regions at a brewery along the Chuo Line is one of the unique pleasures of this spot.
