KARAKURI -Craft Beer & Oden & Sake- in Kanda will feature Shiga Kogen Beer’s `Yuru Brew spelt` as a guest beer for its Wednesday, July 29 service.

According to the post, the beer is built with a hop load heavier than many IPAs, and its style was changed last year to a `Hazy Wheat IPA`. Like Yuru Brew Wheat, it is wheat-driven, but this year more than 25% of the grist uses the brewery’s homegrown heritage wheat, spelt, which led to the rename `Yuru Brew spelt`.

The tasting notes mention a soft, wheaty body with satisfying depth and a subtle spiciness. Apricot- and orange-like impressions stand out, while the lighter alcohol level makes it an easy choice for the hot season.

KARAKURI is a homey basement beer pub that focuses on craft beer, sake, and natural wine, with creative dishes centered on oden. The venue pairs tap beer with dashi-forward food in a relaxed setting, and it also has a bottle shop, so guests can enjoy bottles and cans to go as well.

For beer drinkers looking for a place where the tap list and food both matter, this guest pour fits the house style well. `Yuru Brew spelt` is a solid pick for anyone stopping by Kanda for beer and oden.
