Today's lineup

Marumugi, a beer pub in Arakicho, Shinjuku, published its June 22 tap list. The pricing is set at ¥1,200+ for large pours and ¥900+ for small pours, with a lineup of five beers that each bring a distinct profile.

The beers on tap are "12 DA CAPO" from Y.MARKET BREWING (Aichi), "其の十 / NO.10 IPA" from Shiga Kogen Beer (Nagano), "天草 不知火ヴァイツェン" from Mojiko Retro Beer (Fukuoka), "静岡サマーみかんエール" from Baird Brewing (Shizuoka), and "アルト" from Shonan Beer (Kanagawa).

"12 DA CAPO" is a 4.5% beer that reads as an easygoing opener, the sort of pint that naturally leads to another round. "其の十 / NO.10 IPA" is a stronger 7.5% IPA, but the shop describes it as powerful and light at the same time.

For bright citrus notes, the fruit wheat beer "天草 不知火ヴァイツェン" and the summer-themed "静岡サマーみかんエール" are the clearest picks. The former leans on the gentle aroma of Japanese dekopon and soft wheat character, while the latter pushes a lively summer-mikan freshness. "アルト" rounds out the list with a refined malt profile that should work well with food.

Marumugi is a small beer bar on the second floor of Ichibankan Building in Arakicho, Shinjuku. It is a short walk from Yotsuya-Sanchome Station and is open from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. Since December 5, 2024, it has been closed on Tuesdays and public holidays.

Note

The post also mentioned a Saturday, July 4 event presenting an original coffee-scented beer alongside a performance of "Yotsuya Kaidan." Reservations had already reached capacity at the time of the post.
