Yokohama Beer to Release Its Fifth Canned Beer, "YOKOHAMA SESSION IPA," on April 1
On April 1, Yokohama Beer Brewery will release "YOKOHAMA SESSION IPA," the fifth regular canned beer in its lineup. This refreshing beer uses New Zealand hops, and a launch celebration will also be held at the flagship UMAYA through the end of April.
Debuting as a New Staple
"YOKOHAMA SESSION IPA," which Yokohama Beer Brewery will release on April 1, is a new product positioned as the fifth regular canned beer in its lineup. As a local beer company now in its 25th year, the brewery has nurtured craft beer rooted in Yokohama and Kanagawa, and is introducing this beer as a candidate for an everyday staple that is easy to pick up.
Balancing Aroma and Drinkability
This beer is a session IPA made with New Zealand hops, "Riwaka" and "Nelson Sauvin," to bring out a tropical, refreshing aroma. It has an ABV of 4.5% and an IBU of 34. While it has the hop character typical of an IPA, it is designed with a balance that makes it light and easy to drink.
Rollout Begins in Phases
The initial release will be about 30,000 cans. Sales will begin in phases at selected Lawson and Natural Lawson stores, department stores and commercial facilities in Yokohama City, and certain retailers in the Kanto area. Release timing and stock will vary by store, so availability will differ.
Launch Celebration Events at the Flagship UMAYA
To celebrate the release, the flagship restaurant UMAYA will host an event from April 1 through April 30. In addition to pairing sets featuring the canned beer and food, the lineup includes a JAZZ LIVE performance, sticker giveaways, and T-shirt sales. On the first day only, guests can enjoy the canned beer inside the restaurant, and there will also be a performance by company employee and jazz guitarist Takeya Nakao.
As a Brewery from Yokohama
Yokohama Beer Brewery is known as a craft brewery rooted in Yokohama City, and it has long aimed to create a "hometown beer" loved by locals. This "YOKOHAMA SESSION IPA" is drawing attention as a beer that combines that community-based approach with the drinkability expected of a canned beer.
