A limited release that makes the most of the character of new tea


Hansharo Beer has newly introduced the limited beer “Freshly Harvested Green Tea Ale.” This beer uses new tea produced and sold under the “Nirayama Hansharo Tea no An” brand by its parent company, Kuraya Narusawa Co., Ltd. Generous amounts of freshly processed, homegrown tea leaves were added, resulting in a beer that brings out the appeal of tea itself.

Floral aroma and a pleasant astringency


According to the announcement, the beer is characterized by an elegant flavor that combines the floral aroma derived from tea with a pleasant astringency. In addition, by expressing green nuances through the hops as well, it further accentuates the impression of green tea. Even though it is beer, it is designed to evoke the refreshing, grassy character of tea leaves, which is intriguing.

A glass unique to a place with a history of tea making


Hansharo Beer is a brewery operating in Izunokuni, Shizuoka Prefecture, next to the World Cultural Heritage site “Nirayama Reverberatory Furnaces.” Kuraya Narusawa has continued making tea since 1954, and at “Izu Nirayama Reverberatory Furnaces Tea no An” it produces its own teas, including sencha and hojicha. By overlapping local tea making with beer brewing, it condenses the appeal of Shizuoka ingredients into a single glass.
