Etajima Works Pours Three Draft Beers at the 3rd Etajimaare Festival, First Lager on Its 101st Brew
Etajima Works has started serving three draft beers at the "3rd Etajimaare Festival." Its post also revealed that it brewed its first lager on its 101st batch, adding a new option to its standard ale lineup.
At the 3rd Etajimaare Festival, Etajima Works began serving three draft beers on tap. In an Instagram post, the brewery also said it had prepared its first lager on its 101st brew, suggesting it had taken a new step at a milestone batch.
Etajima Works is a craft beer brewery located in the Nomi area of Etajima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Its brewing space was renovated from part of a sake brewery, and its distinctive setup combines an old wooden sake warehouse with modern equipment. Using water from Etajima in the brewing process, the brewery continues to make beers that highlight island ingredients and seasonal character through different combinations of malt and hops.
Its regular lineup has centered on IPA and Golden Ale, and the Etajima Ale series has also incorporated locally sourced ingredients such as hassaku citrus, honey, and olives. Because the brewery has long built beers connected to local specialties, this lager is likely to be seen as a move that broadens its range.
The venue, "Etajimaare," is a specialty goods store operated by the Etajima City Tourism Association. In addition to selling local agricultural, marine, and souvenir products, it also serves as a tourist information hub. By offering draft beer near the island's gateway, the brewery is naturally integrating craft beer into the flow of shopping and sightseeing.
This post shows that Etajima Works is tying itself closely to island events while also challenging itself with new flavors, not just extending its established lineup. It will be interesting to see how the first lager born at this 101st batch develops into a regular offering.
