Makuhari’s Mihama Base taps WCB Full Hop Alchemist r1 -2026- and Pizza Port Swami’s IPA
WORLD BEER&DINING MIHAMA BASE in Makuhari added two new kegs on June 24: West Coast Brewing’s Full Hop Alchemist r1 -2026- and Pizza Port’s Swami’s IPA, offering two very different drinking experiences in one lineup.
Two new kegs, two different moods
At MIHAMA BASE in Makuhari, a cooler night brought in by an approaching typhoon set the stage for two fresh tap additions: one suited to slow sipping, the other built for easy gulps. The bar’s lineup continues to reflect its craft-beer focus, with a mix of local and imported styles available in one room.
The headline beer is West Coast Brewing / Full Hop Alchemist r1 -2026-. This Hazy Double IPA recreates the 2025 r1 recipe with freshly air-shipped 2026-harvest Freestyle Hops. At 8.5% ABV, it leans into bright tropical sweetness, layered berry and stone-fruit notes, and a grassy edge that adds depth to the full-bodied profile.
The second new pour is Pizza Port / Swami’s IPA. A classic West Coast IPA at 6.8% ABV and 72 IBU, it brings firm bitterness, crisp citrus hop character, and a subtle biscuit-like malt sweetness. The finish is dry and clean, making it an easy match for warmer-weather drinking, even on a slightly cooler night.
The day’s tap list totaled eight beers, including KIRIN/HEARTLAND, Fuller’s / London Pride, West Coast Brewing / Blazing Buds 2026, Smog City / Amarilla Gorilla IPA, 8 Bit Brewing / Final Horizon, and Topa Topa / Blue Heaven, alongside the two new arrivals. With takeaway also available, Mihama Base offers both an on-site tasting stop and a convenient option for bringing beer home.
