Tokyo-based BEER VISTA BREWERY in Koto Ward introduced a collaboration beer with Bar Chase, a bar in Kiyosumi Shirakawa: “LIAISON CHASE ABBEY.”

The beer is described as a Cointreau-inspired pale ale. In the post, Bar Chase is presented as a refined hideaway with high ceilings and a relaxed atmosphere where carefully made cocktails and drinks can be enjoyed slowly. That mood shaped the concept behind the beer, which aims for a balance of brightness, sharpness, and complexity.

For the brew, the team built the base with two kinds of dried orange peel and coriander. After fermentation, the beer was steeped with the fresh peel of domestic Valencia oranges, adding another layer of citrus character. The remaining fruit flesh was then used by Bar Chase as a cocktail ingredient, making the collaboration work on both sides of the counter. Carbonation was kept slightly restrained, matching the idea of a beer that feels natural at a bar counter.

It is a collaboration that reflects both the brewery’s Tokyo identity and the bar’s Kiyosumi Shirakawa setting. Since it is also on tap at VISTA, comparing the two venues could be part of the appeal.
