Koshiki Brewery (Kagoshima) revealed that it is preparing a spring seasonal amber ale made with island-grown jabara. In an Instagram post published on March 24, 2026, it announced, "A new release is coming soon!!" and "It should be available starting sometime tomorrow or the day after!!!"

This time's key ingredient is jabara, a citrus fruit harvested on Koshiki Island. In the post text, the brewery said it brewed an amber ale with this jabara and added the line, "I hope it even helps with hay fever," suggesting a beer with a strong seasonal feel. The beer name, "Sympathy For The Devil," is also listed, and the label art was reportedly specially drawn for this release.

Amber ales are generally a style with caramel-malt aroma and a gentle richness. With island jabara layered on top, the question is how its citrus notes will come through. Rather than flashy impact, the appeal seems likely to be how well the beer captures the character of its ingredients, which will draw drinkers' attention.

Koshiki Brewery is a brewery that continues to share its work against the backdrop of the remote islands of Kagoshima. Its approach of linking locally grown ingredients to beer is the very strength of local craft. This new release should be seen not just as another limited edition, but as an attempt to transfer the distinct identity of Koshiki Island into a glass.

The start of service is said to be "sometime tomorrow or the day after," and no exact date has been announced at this point. For the latest sales and serving information, it is best to check Koshiki Brewery's official Instagram.
