Known as a craft beer brewery in Tsukioka Onsen, Tsukioka Brewery has launched a seasonal new release called "Echigo Hime Yogurt Sour." This beer is a special brew made to celebrate the brewery's 5.5th anniversary, and it uses the Shibata-grown brand strawberry "Echigo Hime."

For brewing, it uses lactic acid fermentation through kettle souring. By layering the soft acidity reminiscent of yogurt over the sweet aroma and fruitiness of Echigo Hime, the brewery aimed to create a fusion of sweetness and acidity. The style is Fruit Sour, the alcohol content is 5%, and the price is 880 yen including tax. The ingredients include malt, Echigo Hime, and hops grown in Shibata.

Reservations opened at 10:00 a.m. on May 17, and the release date is May 24. Sales will be available at Tsukioka Brewery as well as at places such as Teramachi Tamari Station, and it will also be sold through the online store. Because it is a limited brew, sales will end once stock runs out. With local strawberries used throughout, this beer highlights the region's character and seasonal feel, and it is packed with the appeal of Tsukioka Brewery's local craft style.
