Yatsugatake Brewery postpones a double tap takeover at Taihu Tokyo to July 4
Yatsugatake Brewery said its planned double tap takeover with TAIHU BREWING has been postponed because of the typhoon and will now take place on Saturday, July 4, at Taihu Tokyo in Kagurazaka. It offers Tokyo drinkers a chance to experience the brewery’s malt-driven beers closer to home.
Yatsugatake Brewery announced that its double tap takeover with TAIHU BREWING, originally scheduled for June 27, has been postponed to Saturday, July 4 because of the typhoon. The event will be held at Taihu Tokyo in Kagurazaka. According to the notice, the schedule was revised with safety in mind, and the two breweries’ taps are now set to return on the new date.
Based in Kiyosato Highland in Hokuto, Yamanashi, Yatsugatake Brewery has been brewing since 1997 at an altitude of 1,230 meters. The brewery uses the clear water from the southern foothills of the Yatsugatake range and focuses on a malt-centric approach that emphasizes body and flavor. It also draws on traditional methods such as decoction and has collected awards for beers including Pilsner and Kiyosato Lager.
The brewery’s “Touchdown” brand is tied to the story of Paul Rusch, a key figure in Kiyosato’s development. That long history, paired with a modern brewing team, gives the collaboration with TAIHU BREWING a clear fit. For beer fans in Tokyo, the Kagurazaka setting makes this a practical chance to experience Yatsugatake’s brewing philosophy without traveling to Yamanashi.
