Hiruzen Brewing Tsuchitomizu to hold a small-group long-aged beer tasting on September 20
Hiruzen Brewing Tsuchitomizu in Maniwa, Okayama, will host a small tasting event on September 20, 2026. The lineup includes its wild-yeast sour ale and vintage ale, alongside beers from another wild-yeast brewer in Japan.
Hiruzen Brewing Tsuchitomizu is a small brewery in the Shimozawa area of Hiruzen, Maniwa City, Okayama. It focuses on natural spring water, wild yeast, and farming rooted in natural cultivation, with owner-brewer Hoshiyuki Sugi running the brewery largely on his own. Since starting brewing in August 2023, it has built a reputation for beers that reflect the character of the land.
The Instagram post announces a small-group event titled "Long Age". It will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from around 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the brewery. The planned lineup includes the first sour ale, S-1, and the vintage ale V-1, plus Okaeri [Amakuuku] and Naked Ale from koti brewery. Simple food such as fried potatoes and smoked items will also be available.
The fee is 6,000 yen, including the brewery visit. Extra glasses cost 800 yen each, and the event is limited to six people. Reservations are open by Instagram DM until Thursday, September 10 at 5:00 p.m. The post also says transport to lodging may be arranged for overnight guests, and two spots were already tentatively reserved at the time of posting.
Chuka, the area where the brewery is located, is a highland landscape where cool mornings and evenings meet hot daytime weather. That setting suits a brewery that treats yeast, water, and place as part of the beer itself. The event should offer both a tasting and a direct look at the background behind the brewery's work.
