Nara Brewing announces four events at bookstores, markets, and its taproom from late May to early June
On Instagram on May 15, Nara Brewing announced its event and pop-up schedule from late May through early June. The lineup includes a bookstore pop-up in Nara, a large market in Aichi, a sake festival in Nara Prefecture, and a taproom open day.
Nara Brewing, based in Nara City, used its Instagram post on May 15 to round up its planned events from late May through early June. Founded in 2017, the company has pursued the idea of conveying “the expanding possibilities of beer,” and has continued to go beyond the boundaries of a brewery with projects such as collaborations with reading and sauna culture.
The first event is a pop-up sale on May 16 at the bookstore "Tohon" in Yamatokoriyama, Nara. Centered on its familiar beer "KABEL," which it has positioned as a beer suited to reading, the booth will feature several kinds of canned beer. No takeaway sales will be offered on site; instead, it is being presented as something to enjoy between chapters or while strolling through town.
Next, from May 22 to 24, the brewery will appear at "Mori, Michi, Ichiba 2026" in Aichi. The post also says it plans to sell a collaboration beer with the EATBEAT! team, led by food innovator Yusuke Hotta and chalk artist chalkboy. At the intersection of food, music, and craft, a distinctly Nara Brewing kind of pour seems likely to be on offer.
Then, from May 29 to 31, it will take part in "KIGEN Japanese Sake Fest" at the Nara Convention Center. The event brings together more than 60 groups, including breweries from inside and outside Nara Prefecture, as well as craft sake makers, breweries, and wineries, and digital advance tickets are currently on sale.
The schedule concludes with a taproom open day on June 6. The indoor space will be standing-room only, and bringing in food is allowed. The announcement invites visitors to enjoy a quiet beer at the brewery before the rainy season begins. From May into June, Nara Brewing continues its familiar movement of using beer as a starting point for broader connections with the local community and culture.
