GOOD HOPS releases HOP FARMERS IPA, its first core beer
GOOD HOPS, based in Tono, Iwate, launched HOP FARMERS IPA on July 29 as its first regular release. The IPA is brewed with 100% Tono-grown hops and uses IBUKI, No Wind, and Saaz for a profile centered on herbal and fruit-like aromas with a gentle bitterness.
The first beer in the HOP FARMERS series
GOOD HOPS is a brewery in Tono, Iwate, that works across hop cultivation, processing, and brewing. Its new release, HOP FARMERS IPA, turns that integrated approach into a regular product and marks the start of the brewery's first core series, HOP FARMERS.
The beer is an IPA with an ABV of 5.5%. It uses three hops grown in Tono: IBUKI, No Wind, and Saaz. According to the brewery, the beer is made entirely with Tono-grown hops cultivated by hop farmers themselves, and it delivers a bright combination of herbal and fruit-like aromas.
The recipe builds the aroma in layers: IBUKI brings herbal and floral notes, No Wind adds a soft fruit-like character, and Saaz provides a refined, restrained bitterness to tie everything together. Rather than chasing extreme bitterness or flashy aromatics, the beer aims for balance and drinkability.
GOOD HOPS has positioned itself as a brewery that expands the possibilities of Japanese hops from one of the country's key hop-growing regions. By connecting the field to the brewhouse, HOP FARMERS IPA feels like a clear expression of that philosophy, and a beer that shows how closely the brewery works with the hops it grows.
