Belgian Beer Weekend (BBW) is a festival where visitors can experience Belgian beer culture in Japan. In addition to a lineup of distinctive beers such as white beer, Trappist beer, and fruit beer, visitors can also enjoy Belgian cuisine and live music.
The schedule is as follows: Hibiya from April 16 to 19, Nagoya from April 24 to May 10, Yokohama from May 21 to 24, Osaka from May 27 to 31, Kyoto in early October, and Shinjuku from December 2 to 6. Venues will mainly be urban parks and plazas in each area, including Hibiya Park Nire no Ki Hiroba, Hisaya Odori Park, Yamashita Park, Nakanoshima Park, and the triangular plaza of Shinjuku Sumitomo Building.
Konishi Sake Brewing is known as the brewer of the sake "Shirayuki" and has a long history of sake brewing in Itami, Hyogo. Itami is also known as the birthplace of sake, and the company has long been involved not only in sake but also in the import and sales of Belgian beer. With a history of starting Belgian beer import and sales in 1988, this announcement is also positioned as an effort to convey the breadth of sake culture.
BBW is not simply a place to drink beer, but an event where visitors can experience each country's brewing culture and beer-food pairings. While tasting Belgium's diverse styles, visitors can also enjoy touring the venues spread from Kansai to the Tokyo metropolitan area and the Tokai region.
