Uchu Brewing introduces barrel-aged "GENESIS" at Toranomon Hills
In an Instagram post on April 2, Uchu Brewing introduced "GENESIS" from its Toranomon Hills taproom. In the official PDF, it is described as a barrel-aged imperial stout, a bottle that clearly reflects the brewery’s character based in Hokuto, Yamanashi.
Uchu Brewing, based in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, shared an update on Instagram from its Toranomon Hills taproom. The post image shows the names `GENESIS` and `UCHU BREWING`, and the brewery’s official website also presents it as a `BARREL AGED IMPERIAL STOUT` in a promotional PDF.
`GENESIS` can be seen as one of Uchu Brewing’s labels that puts barrel-aging nuances front and center. This dark, low-slung stout offers the pleasure of taking time with its aroma and finish, making it a style well suited to slow enjoyment at a taproom.
The brewery was founded in Yamanashi in 2018, and while its headquarters and brewery are now in Hokuto City, it operates taprooms in Kobuchisawa, Yamanashi, and Toranomon, Tokyo. For a company that carries the mission of delivering “an experience that makes the heart tremble” through beer, the urban taproom is also a direct point of contact that conveys where the brewer is today.
This post, shared from the taproom, was a piece that simultaneously conveyed the brand’s cosmic sensibility and the heavy presence of a barrel-aged stout. Rather than relying on flashy hype, it lets the beer’s own presence speak for itself, which feels very much in line with Uchu Brewing’s style of communication.
