On Sunday, March 29, Sakura Taps opened at 1:00 p.m. on a day made for flower viewing. Located on the second floor of Noraneko Street in Yoshida-machi, Yokohama, this beer pub serves craft beer on eight rotating taps each day, and also offers hand-drip coffee. Its appeal is the chance to slowly sip a glass in a calm, relaxed interior.

That day, one beer was swapped in during service, and Indian Summer Saison / Shiga Kogen Beer was newly tapped. According to the description, it is a Belgian IPA that layers the dryness and fruitiness of saison yeast with new hop varieties from New Zealand and the United States. It is presented as a refreshing beer with an aroma reminiscent of green citrus and a moderate bitterness around 50 IBU, making it easier to drink than its name might suggest.

The lineup that day also included OBAKE / Faló Brewing, LEMON RADLER / Baeren Brewery, Right / Break Edge Beer Works, Kaeruu Beer / Barbaric Works × Kaeruu, Sakura Fluffs / PECORA BEER, Echo Flora / Streetlight Brewing, and MIURA SAKURA ALE / MIURA brewery. Two beers made with cherry blossoms were still on tap, and both were said to be running low. For a break between flower-viewing stops, it would also be interesting to start lightly with a radler, then move on to a saison, a hazy beer, or a dark lager.

Sakura Taps is a place where the beer lineup changes quickly, letting you encounter a different expression depending on your mood that day. In springtime Yokohama, it is a place worth remembering for days when you want to enjoy not only the cherry blossoms, but also what is in your glass.
