Jibeer Bar Marumugi, a craft beer pub located in Arakicho, Shinjuku, Tokyo, has published its beer lineup for October 9. Five beers from breweries across Japan are available, covering fruit-forward wheat beer, hop-driven IPA, dark beer, a malt-focused red ale, and an English-style ESB.
Minoh Beer’s “Kokusan Momo Weizen Shimizu Hakuho Ver.” from Osaka is a 5.0% weizen featuring fresh peach aromas and a dry finish. It offers a crisp way to enjoy the character of Japanese white peaches without an overly sweet impression.
Ushitora Brewery’s “Orei no Hopster IPA☆” from Tochigi comes in at 6.5%. The beer is described as both nostalgic and new, with the distinctive hop character associated with classic IPAs.
For darker beer fans, Swan Lake Beer’s “Swan Lake Porter” from Niigata is 6.0%, combining roasted notes with a smooth, mild palate. COEDO’s “Beniaka” from Saitama is stronger at 7.0% and uses Kawagoe’s distinctive beniaka sweet potato to create a gently sweet, roasted profile.
Ise Kadoya Beer’s 5.0% “ESB” from Mie rounds out the selection with deep malt character and a clean finish. Its balanced profile should work well with food as well as on its own.
The beers are priced at ¥1,300 for a large serving and ¥1,000 for a small. Marumugi is located on the second floor of Ichibankan Building in Arakicho, an area known for its compact bars and restaurants. The pub is closed on Tuesdays and public holidays. Prices were standardized from October 1 following a significant increase in carbon dioxide costs.
