Beer Space On Tap Features Seven Taps, Including Nara Brewing's "UNDERWATER : LUMINOUS"
At the beer pub Beer Space On Tap in Kobe's Motomachi, Nara Brewing's "UNDERWATER : LUMINOUS" has newly gone on tap. This is a bottle where the delicacy of sake yeast meets a sweet-and-sour profile, and a total of seven taps were lined up that day.
Beer Space On Tap, located in the basement level of Kobe Plaza Hotel on Motomachi-dori in Kobe, is a smoke-free beer pub that's easy for solo visitors to step into. In the springlike warmth, the tap list is set up so you feel like casually tilting back a glass.
The new tap that day was Nara Brewing's "UNDERWATER : LUMINOUS." This SAKE YEAST BEER has 6% ABV and 0 IBU, and is part of the sake-collaboration "UNDERWATER" series. According to the post, it offers aromas reminiscent of red-fleshed watermelon, honeyed apples, and ramune, and when you take a sip, gentle sweetness, a clear acidity, and light carbonation come together. Its defining feature is that it retains the delicacy of sake while finishing as an easy-drinking beer without any heaviness.
The day's "Today's on Tap" featured these seven beers:
- Nara Brewing / UNDERWATER : LUMINOUS
- NOVORU / Warau
- ONE's Brewery / CGS-01 Contemporary Gose
- ISINOMAKI HOP WORKS / Maki Kaze Ale
- OUR BREWING / Magic Flavour
- ONE's Brewery / Smoke Beer
- Tamba-ji Brewery / Sakura Hanaranman
Looking at the lineup, it ranges widely from sour-friendly gose styles to aromatic ales and beers brewed with sake yeast. In particular, "Sakura Hanaranman" is said to be close to kicking, so anyone interested should check it out early. It's just the kind of place to look for a beer that matches your mood in Kobe's Motomachi.
