Today’s lineup

Marumugi, the small beer pub in Arakicho, Shinjuku, posted its beer menu for July 3. Pricing is listed at JPY 1,200+ for a large pour and JPY 900+ for a small pour. Because the team is preparing for an event, the bar says it is operating with four taps today.

The lineup includes COEDO’s "Ao-AO" from Saitama at 5.5% ABV with a JPY 100 surcharge, TWO RABBITS BREWING’s "KIWI IPA" from Shiga at 6.0% ABV with a JPY 100 surcharge, Mojiko Retro Beer’s "Amakusa Shiranui Weizen" from Fukuoka at 5.0% ABV with a JPY 100 surcharge, and Shonan Beer’s "Alt" from Kanagawa at 5.0% ABV. Each beer is described on the post: Ao-AO is a crisp cold IPA with lively hop character, KIWI IPA leans into tropical New Zealand hops, the Shiranui Weizen is bright and citrusy, and Alt is presented as a food-friendly beer with a refined malt richness.

The post also mentions "THUNDERSTRUCK IPA" by Repubrew × open air brewing from Shizuoka at 5.5% ABV, although it appears struck through in the menu. With its peppery and hop-driven concept, it stands out as the most distinctive beer on the list, even if it is not part of the active tap setup.

Marumugi opened in 2011 and sits in Arakicho, about a three-minute walk from Yotsuya-Sanchome Station. As a compact neighborhood beer bar, it offers a range that moves comfortably from hop-forward IPAs to a malt-driven Alt, making it a place where drinkers can match the beer to the mood or the meal.

Next-day event

The bar also announces an event for July 4: an original beer unveiling produced by rakugo storyteller Kanda Yonomaru, paired with a performance of "Yotsuya Kaidan." The venue is Marumugi itself. With the next day's program in view, July 3 is a good time to focus on the current taps first and then look ahead to what comes next.
