Ueno's The World End Announces 9 Guest Taps Including Oni Densetsu × TONOTO, Plus 4 Regular Drafts
The Irish pub "The World End -Irish Pub-" in Ueno has released its service notice for May 17. In addition to nine guest beers from Oni Densetsu Beer, Hazy Labo, Oud Beersel, and others, it will also have four regulars including Guinness and Pilsner Urquell, and will open at 3:00 p.m. to coincide with Sanja Matsuri.
The World End -Irish Pub-, located on the second floor of the TSU Building in Ueno, has released its tap list for May 17. The post also notes that the day coincides with Sanja Matsuri in nearby Asakusa, and announces that the bar will open at 3:00 p.m.
The highlight this time is a nine-beer lineup. From Japan, the selection includes Oni Densetsu Beer’s "Kinoni Pale Ale (ADHA-218 ver.)", Hazy Labo’s "Waimea Hazy IPA", Oni Densetsu × TONOTO’s "Shin Asaki Oni IPA", Cycad Brewing’s "Lowii3 NE IPA", 3sons’ "Coco Logic Imperial Stout", Oni Densetsu × TWE × Himalaya’s "Akkiyama Bitter III", and Kanpai! × The World End’s "Berry Berry Slope Acai Bowl Smoothie Sour". From Belgium, there are Oud Beersel’s "One-Year-Aged Lambic" and "Winter Lambiek", making for a wide-ranging lineup from IPA to sour to lambic.
Particularly notable are items 3, 6, and 7, which were announced as newly tapped. Among them, "Shin Asaki Oni IPA" is said to be finished with these 10 liters, making it a beer to target early in the day. In addition, items 2, 4, and 5 are also said to be running low, so the turnover of the kegs looks likely to be quite fast.
The four permanent beers are Guinness, Pilsner Urquell, Hoegaarden White, and Heartland. Alongside the dark beer that suits an Irish pub, the lineup also includes Czech lager, Belgian white ale, and a standard Japanese lager, making it easy to enjoy side-by-side comparisons with the guest taps.
The World End is one of Ueno's spots where you can enjoy not only beer but also pub food. In this post, the bar also announced the limited-time return of tacos, making it easy to build a full meal alongside the rotating craft beers. Conveniently located near the station, it is easy to drop by, and is a handy place for after-work drinks or a stop during a weekend stroll through Ueno.
