Rokushima Hama Brewery will hold the 36th edition of “Minato no Kyujitsu” on Sunday, November 8, 2026. The event will take place from 10:00 to 16:00 at the Minato Kobanshi parking area in Kasaoka, Okayama, and will go ahead in light rain.
One of the highlights will be a special beer brewed with rare red buckwheat grown on fallow farmland in Kasaoka’s Imai district. The beer is not normally available for general bottled sales, but visitors will be able to purchase both draft and bottled versions at the event. It offers a distinctive meeting point between a local agricultural ingredient and the brewing culture of Rokushima.
Guest vendor Himonoya Kankichi will serve carefully prepared Setouchi dried seafood, including seafood grilled over charcoal in front of guests. Its popular unagi kabayaki rice bowl will also return, and dried seafood will be available to take home.
YOD’Z BURGER will make its third appearance at the market. Its menu features substantial burgers made with 100% beef shoulder loin patties and house-made bacon. Other offerings are expected to include craft beer, sake, tai fish fries, spice curry, seasonal tarts, syrup cider, and more.
Rokushima Hama Brewery is based on Rokushima, a small island in the Kasaoka Islands with a population of around 40. The brewery makes beer shaped by the island’s natural setting and close community ties. Its lineup includes regular beers such as Rokushima Mugi no Hajimari and Rokushima Drumkan Kaigi, as well as beers made with ingredients from the Setouchi region.
With a seaside setting, local food, and a limited beer made with red buckwheat, Minato no Kyujitsu Vol. 36 offers a relaxed way to experience Kasaoka’s regional character. The venue is about a seven-minute walk from JR Kasaoka Station, making it easy to combine with a visit to the Kasaoka Islands.
