A new Italian pilsner at a basement beer bar in Ikebukuro
vivo! BEER+DININGBAR has tapped Minoh Beer’s Haikara Pils. According to the bar’s notice, it opens at 4:00 p.m. on Mondays, and it plans to take a break on August 4 and 5, so checking the business schedule before visiting would be wise. As a tucked-away basement beer pub in Ikebukuro East Exit area, it offers an easy place to slow down and enjoy a fresh tap list.
Haikara Pils is an Italian pilsner. Minoh Beer says the beer began about seven years ago after a collaboration with Tim from Oxbow Brewing in Maine, and it returns now with a refreshed name and design. German noble hops are used both during the brew and as dry hops during fermentation, bringing out a soft malt character, an elegant and rounded hop aroma, and a pleasantly light bitterness.
vivo! BEER+DININGBAR is known for serving around 20 draft beers in Ikebukuro, making it a practical stop for drinkers who want to compare styles or pair beer with dinner. A pilsner like Haikara Pils, with its clear structure and balanced hop expression, should fit neatly into that lineup as a beer that works well on its own and with food.
The bar also notes that its point-card service, Kanpai! Card, ended on March 20. If you plan to go, it is best to check the latest store information along with the opening schedule.
