In Kami City, Kochi Prefecture, Kochi Campagne Brewery will begin selling its collaboration beer with Okamune Farm, "Konacchan Honey Mead," on April 2. Known for its TOSACO brand, the brewery continues to make beers that make use of local agricultural products, and once again attention is focused on this distinctly Kochi combination of ingredients.

A Drink That Makes the Most of Konatsu and Honey

"Konacchan Honey Mead" is a collaboration product made with konatsu from Okamune Farm. It is designed to combine the refreshing aroma of konatsu, the subtle bitterness derived from the peel, and the gentle sweetness of honey. The style is a mead-style braggot, and with an alcohol content of 4.0%, it balances citrus lightness with drinkability.

Its Connection with Okamune Farm

Okamune Farm is based in Aki City, Kochi Prefecture, where it produces and sells ornamental trees and flower seedlings, while also growing mangoes, lychees, konatsu, and more. In addition to shipping konatsu in season, the farm has also worked to use off-grade fruit as juice. By combining that approach to ingredient use with the brewery's ideas, this collaboration beer was created.

A Locally Rooted Beer from Kami City

Kochi Campagne Brewery is based in Kami City and promotes itself as a brewery that makes "delicious Kochi, delicious beer." Under the TOSACO lineup as well, it has steadily developed products that make use of ingredients grown in the prefecture. Rather than simply highlighting the individuality of agricultural products as they are, the brewery's hallmark is bringing them together in a form that is easy to drink as beer.

This "Konacchan Honey Mead" is not just a fruit beer, but a beer whose flavor is built around a balance of konatsu, honey, and hops. As a community-based collaboration made by Kochi producers and brewers, its spring launch is eagerly awaited.
