Matsui Shuzo Co., based in Kurayoshi, Tottori, has introduced a new beer series designed to fit everyday meals. The lineup features three cans: `MB`, `MB Platinum`, and `MB IPA`. All three are 350 ml cans with an alcohol content of 5%, and they will be sold sequentially through supermarkets, liquor stores, and the company’s official online shop.

A new everyday standard

The company began brewing beer about three years ago. For this release, it brought together that brewing experience with the techniques it has built through whisky production, aiming to elevate a simple ingredient list into a well-balanced beer. The concept is clear: a beer that works as an ideal companion at the table. With a recipe built around simplicity, the flavor balance comes down directly to malt character, crispness, and finish.

Three distinct expressions

- `MB`: Built around a rich malt body and a refreshing, clean finish. Suggested retail price: 250 yen before tax.
- `MB Platinum`: Puts deeper malt richness at the center, with a clear finish and sharp crispness. Suggested retail price: 270 yen before tax.
- `MB IPA`: Adds wheat to create a beer that combines bright hop aroma with a soft mouthfeel. The result is intended to feel both full-flavored and easy to keep drinking. Suggested retail price: 300 yen before tax.

From Kurayoshi to a wider market

Matsui Shuzo operates from Kurayoshi and produces whisky, beer, and other spirits. The company has long used local place names such as Kurayoshi, Tottori, and Sanin across its `Matsui` brand portfolio. The new MB series extends that approach into a more everyday direction, focusing less on novelty and more on how well a beer fits the dinner table.
