April at Ebiru Brew Studio is a month where spring events and a new beer line up side by side. The brewery in Kobe’s Higashinada Ward will release a new Pale Ale, "Travelin' Light," on April 15. It is a beer designed with a light, easy-drinking finish suited to the season, along with a modern aroma reminiscent of grapefruit.

The month kicked off with a food event. At the "Spring Pizza Festival" held on April 4 and 5, the most popular item was said to be the firefly squid and rapeseed blossom pizza. A lineup centered on spring ingredients looks like a great match for the kind of enjoyment that comes with a brewery taproom.

On April 11, the venue hosted a live performance by the Brazilian music unit Sol de agosto. The stage ran twice, at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., with no cover charge and a tip-based system. On April 18 and 19, the brewery will set up at "Bakuen," a beer festival bringing together breweries from across Hyogo Prefecture, and in collaboration with Kenbishi Shuzo, it will pour "Tsukuyomi," aged for one month in cedar barrels, in a limited quantity of 15 liters per day. Based on a full-bodied saison that won gold at a domestic competition, it is a limited release that cannot be drunk at the shop.

In addition, the regular beer yoga is scheduled for April 24, and the Sumiyoshigawa Easy Run Club is planned for April 26. On April 29, the brewery will celebrate its second anniversary, and during the Golden Week period it will also announce extra events as part of Anniversary Week. From food and music to exercise and a new beer, April at Ebiru is shaping up to be a calendar that broadly connects local ways to enjoy the season.
