Better life with upcycle, a brewery based in Ebina, Kanagawa, will hold a craft beer workshop on October 18, 2026, at ODAKYU Shonan GATE in Fujisawa. The event is part of a program held during Food Loss Awareness Month in October and will take place in the fifth-floor event space.

The workshop focuses on the brewery’s signature concept: beer made from bread crusts. The team will discuss what led them to develop the beer, along with an accessible explanation of the brewing process. The second half will include a tasting and a conversation about the flavors of the beers. A small sales session will also follow the workshop.

Better life with upcycle combines the skills of a long-established boulangerie with brewing expertise. Its broader mission is to give food-loss materials new value through carefully crafted drinks, including beers made with bread crusts. The brewery presents this approach as a way to connect sustainability with enjoyable everyday drinking.

Three 60-minute sessions are scheduled for 11:00, 13:00, and 15:00, with up to 12 participants per session. Admission is ¥1,000, payable in cash only. The event is limited to guests aged 20 and over, and the tasting means visitors are asked not to arrive by car. Reservations are first come, first served, through the designated registration page or the QR code in the original announcement.

For beer lovers curious about how an overlooked bakery ingredient can become a finished pint, the workshop offers a chance to explore both the story and the flavor behind Better life with upcycle’s beers.
