Marugame Miroku Brewery will hold its in-house event “Downtown Chinese Cuisine × Beer” on Sunday, May 31, from 11:00 to 23:00.

This event is part of the monthly “MIROC Festival,” which has been held once a month. The post also reveals that this timing marks the event’s exactly one-year anniversary, and says that, amid the many different themes that have enlivened the brewery so far, they will bring back the downtown Chinese concept that was well received at the very first event.

As the name suggests, the theme is “downtown Chinese cuisine,” which naturally raises questions about how well it pairs with beer. The post introduces it as a chance to enjoy a world where a chef with 15 years of Chinese cuisine experience and Miroku Brewery come together, making this look like an event centered on the pairing of food and beer.

Marugame Miroku Brewery is a brewpub in Kitatoyama-cho, Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture. On its official website, it says that beyond serving beer and food, it aims to create a “melting space” where people feel at ease and naturally connect with one another. It also features local ingredients and materials from natural and organic farming, and takes care to preserve living yeast in its beer.

This “Downtown Chinese Cuisine × Beer” event can be seen as a meeting point between that brewery philosophy and the approachable fun of Chinese comfort food. Since it will be open for a long stretch from daytime into the night on a weekend, it should be an easy opportunity for people who want to relax with food and beer.
