A highly drinkable Italian Pilsner
Hansharo Beer has announced “pinkie,” a limited-edition Italian Pilsner brewed in Izunokuni, Shizuoka. The beer highlights the refreshing herbal and floral aromas of noble hops, complemented by a crisp malt character.
Its clean, refreshing palate is balanced by a distinct malt savoriness. The result is a light yet satisfying beer that is easy to enjoy with food or over several glasses, making it a natural choice for the lingering warmth of late summer and the beginning of autumn.
Inspired by cherry-blossom memories
“pinkie” was originally developed as a beer to enjoy during cherry-blossom viewing. The brewery explains that it chose the name with the hope that drinking the beer after hanami would bring back the feeling of wanting to enjoy the blossoms again.
Although the beer is being released outside the traditional cherry-blossom season, its concept is not limited to spring. Hansharo Beer hopes that “pinkie” will sit quietly alongside memorable moments in everyday life and bring those pleasant memories back with each sip.
Hansharo Beer was founded in 1997 by Kuraya Narusawa, a company connected with the historic Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace in Izunokuni. The furnace became part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution” in 2015. Based in this historically rich area, the brewery produces year-round beers as well as limited releases built around different styles and themes.
