Buso Brewery unveils spring-limited "HANAKAZE" featuring Machida-grown yuzu
In a March 17, 2026 post, Buso Brewery announced its seasonal new release, "HANAKAZE – Spring Saison." This saison uses yuzu from Machida, with ABV 6% and IBU 30. This year, the brewery says the yuzu aroma has been made slightly stronger to bring the springlike freshness to the forefront.
Tokyo-based Buso Brewery introduced "HANAKAZE – Spring Saison" as its seasonal beer for spring. The specs shown in the post are ABV 6% / IBU 30. It is a saison brewed with plenty of yuzu from Machida.
What stands out most in this announcement is how clearly the brewery describes the adjustments from last year’s version. The brewery explains that it "made the yuzu aroma a little stronger this year," with the goal of expressing spring to the fullest. While amplifying the aroma, the finished beer is described as "even fresher and lighter," aiming for a drinking experience suited to that first beer of the day.
Saison is a style known for its dry, lively drinking character and strong aromatic expression. By layering Tokyo-Machida yuzu on top of that base, the beer is designed to elevate both citrus brightness and a sense of the season at the same time. As a beer that makes use of local ingredients, it also naturally reflects Buso Brewery’s regional identity.
If you are looking for a light, aromatic beer to match the start of spring, this is a new release worth checking out.
