Yoho Brewing Releases Limited “Uchoten Aliens NEW WORLD” Hazy IPA at 7-Eleven
Yoho Brewing has released a limited-edition Hazy IPA, Uchoten Aliens NEW WORLD HOP, at participating 7-Eleven stores across Japan. Brewed with New Zealand hops, the beer offers a refreshing white-grape aroma distinct from the tropical character of the regular version.
A new expression of Uchoten Aliens
Yoho Brewing’s “Limited Uchoten Aliens NEW WORLD HOP Hazy IPA” became available from October 13, 2026, at participating 7-Eleven stores nationwide. Availability may vary by location.
The beer uses New Zealand-grown Nelson Sauvin and Motueka hops. Nelson Sauvin is known for aromas reminiscent of white wine and fresh white grapes, while Motueka contributes citrus notes and a refreshing lift. According to Yoho Brewing, the combination is designed to deliver a bright white-grape aroma alongside the rich, smooth mouthfeel associated with Hazy IPA.
Hazy IPA is characterized by a cloudy appearance, expressive fruit-forward hop aromas, and relatively restrained bitterness. Brewer Ryota Ishihara describes the limited beer as balancing refreshment with juiciness. The brewery also recommends pairing it with tomato-based pizza, white-fish fritters, carpaccio, or grilled chicken.
Comparing it with the regular release
The regular Uchoten Aliens uses American hops such as Mosaic and Idaho 7, creating a more tropical-fruit-driven aroma. The NEW WORLD version shifts the focus toward white grape, white wine, citrus, and freshness through its New Zealand hop bill. Tasting the two side by side offers a clear demonstration of how hop origin can reshape the character of the same Hazy IPA concept.
Founded in Karuizawa in 1997 and based in Miyota, Nagano, Yoho Brewing is known for beers including Yona Yona Ale and Tokyo Black. This limited release continues the brewery’s effort to make distinctive craft beer accessible through convenience-store channels.
