Neko Beer is a small brewery based in Minami Ward, Fukuoka City. In this Instagram post, it introduced its new releases, "Nyajii" and "Otsumiru~," side by side, bringing together two hazy beers with clearly different directions.

Nyajii

"Nyajii" is presented as a DDH Hazy IPA. It has an ABV of 7.0%, and its grist consists of Pilsner, Flaked Oats, Wheat Malt, and Carapils, while the hops used are NZ Cascade, NZ Waimea, and Rakau Hop Kief. As the name suggests, the recipe centers on the character of New Zealand hops, and the combination of a playful Neko Beer-style name with a carefully constructed recipe is especially memorable.

Otsumiru~

Meanwhile, "Otsumiru~" is introduced as a milkshake IPA in an oat cream-style hazy format. It has an ABV of 7% and combines Sabro, Citra, and Motueka to create aromas of sweet coconut milk, lemon, peach, and mint. In addition, it uses double the usual amount of oat flakes, aiming for a creamy, smooth mouthfeel and a lightly sweet finish.

These two beers show Neko Beer’s strengths clearly: one is a hazy beer that puts hop character front and center, while the other is a milkshake-style beer shaped by the richness of oats. As a local brewery in Fukuoka, it stands out not only for its approachable names, but also for how distinctly it handles different styles.
