On Tuesday, June 2, Nekobeer will hold Nekobeer TTO at Daily Beppu, the new Oita location of Bistro Shun. Nekobeer is a brewery based in Fukuoka City’s Minami Ward, and the announcement was made in an Instagram post on May 20.

The post says the event will start at 3:00 p.m., and that the head brewer will be on site from open to close. As for the beers to be brought in, the brewery says it will prepare a number of rare draft beers it has been setting aside for this day, as well as new releases, with the tap lineup to be announced later.

The venue, Daily Beppu, is the new location of the Oita shop Bistro Shun, with which Nekobeer already has a friendly relationship. Although it is a weekday event, the post also says, "Even if you're coming after work, please stop by," suggesting it is designed as an event that is easy to drop in to later in the day. A rock-paper-scissors tournament has also been announced, so the event seems likely to include participatory elements beyond simply drinking beer.

What gives Nekobeer its appeal is the limited-edition feel of its draft beers and the close, on-site interaction. A TTO where the brewer stands in the shop and explains the background of the beers in person is appealing not only for comparing different labels, but also for getting a sense of the brewer’s way of thinking. Since this time it will be held in Oita, it looks likely to be a valuable opportunity for local beer fans to connect directly with the Fukuoka brewery.
