The beer pub Craft Beer Spot Hatohor in Osaka's Kyobashi released its tap list for May 18. True to the shop's style of serving craft beer on 16 taps alongside house-smoked dishes, the selection that day is well balanced, ranging from lager and IPA to dark beer.

Today's Tap

The star of the day is Spring Lager / Minoh Beer. While Minoh Beer's standard pilsner leans more toward the Czech style, this is a limited lager finished in the German style. Made with German malt and all-German hops, it is designed to balance lightness with satisfying drinkability. Its crisp mouthfeel, moderate richness, and clean finish make it an easy first pint.

Today's Recommendation

Among the fruit beers, Shine Muscat Ale / Island Brewery is one of the recommendations. This beer uses off-grade Shine Muscat grapes grown at Nonaka Orchard in Nagasaki, and long-term frozen aging also brings out a rich grape character. It is a beer for people who want more than just refreshment and would like to taste a deeper fruit presence.

Other Lineup

The lager section includes Yuya Boys IPL - Jamboree SP Ver / Onidensetsu Beer, Papa Zaru Lager / Minoh Beer, and Yebisu / Sapporo Breweries.

In the ale section, Echoes / Nara Brewing and Red Ale Real Ale ver / Iwate Kura Beer are listed.

The IPA section is especially strong, with Kind of Gold / Shiga Kogen Beer x Dogfish Head x Oxbow, Sake Lees Hazy IPA ZAKU Shinryoku / Ise Kadoya Brewery, Bakushu no Ousho / Y.Market Brewing, and Electro Squash Sour IPA / Ise Kadoya Brewery.

For dark beer, there is Enmusubi Bakushu Stout Real Ale ver / Beer Helln. It is easy to build a drinking flow that starts with lager, moves through fruit beers and IPAs, and finishes with stout. It is a day that lets you enjoy a wide range of styles at once, very much in Hatohor's spirit.
