From Mushima to an Event Near Kasaoka Station

Mushimahama Brewery is a craft beer brewery on Mushima, the southernmost island in the Kasaoka Islands. In an Instagram announcement, it said it would head from the island to Kasaoka and set up a booth at the 33rd Minato no Kyujitsu, to be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The venue is the Minato Kobanashi parking lot, a 7-minute walk from JR Kasaoka Station, and the hours are 10:00 to 16:00.

TAP List

The four taps introduced in this post are:

- Wheat's Beginning (Alc. 5%)
A saison beer where the yeast's sweet aroma and complex flavors come together.
- Drum Can Meeting (Alc. 5%)
A rauchbier made with smoked malt and natural hijiki seaweed from Mushima.
- Oyster Stout (Alc. 5%)
A mellow dark beer that captures the umami of oysters from Kitagi Island.
- Dear From (Alc. 10%)
A barley wine made with brown sugar from Hateruma Island.

The post also listed foods that pair well with each beer, suggesting that the event is designed not only for tasting different beers, but also for enjoying food pairings. In particular, "Drum Can Meeting" is presented as a smoky, umami-rich rauchbier, with pairings that would suit meat dishes and boldly seasoned snacks.

Sales Information

Only draft beer will be sold at the venue. For those who want bottled beer, it says they can be purchased at a nearby retailer. Mushimahama Brewery has continued brewing on Mushima, a remote island in Kasaoka City, Okayama Prefecture, since 2019, and has kept making beers that incorporate local ingredients. This appearance should also offer a chance to experience the island's character in the streets of Kasaoka.
