Chuo Line Beer Works will set up a booth at the "Kunitachi Station 100th Anniversary Festival" held at Kunitachi Station on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19. At the venue, it will sell "Poppoya Ale," made with hops grown by employees who work at stations and station buildings on the Chuo and Nambu lines, with a Kunitachi Station 100th anniversary commemorative label, limited to 200 bottles each day. Three regular beers will also be sold, and sales will end once they are sold out.
The brewery is based in Koganei, Tokyo, and is operated by JR Chuo Line Community Design. On its official website, it says that staff who have been involved in local craft beer events as station staff handle brewing, with the goal of conveying the appeal of the railway line through beer. The brewery is located under the elevated tracks of the JR Chuo Line between Higashi-Koganei Station and Musashi-Koganei Station, and its taproom offers house-brewed beers and guest beers.
This booth appearance can be seen as a Chuo Line Beer Works-style initiative that connects railways and the local community. The event venue is also scheduled to offer sales of commemorative ekiben, train simulator experiences, and children's uniform try-ons, making it easy for families to stop by. Payment will be accepted via transit IC cards such as Suica, credit cards, and QR code payments; cash will not be accepted.
