On April 23, Cafe & CraftBeer Dining SOUL BIRD opened two new beers: Dieu Du Ciel!'s Hazy Pale Ale "South Window - Fenêtre sur les Tropiques" and Threes Brewing's West Coast IPA "Good Bad News." SOUL BIRD on April 23
At Cafe & CraftBeer Dining SOUL BIRD in Hamamatsucho, Tokyo, table seats were reserved until around 8:30 p.m. that day, with only counter seats available. As a beer pub near the station where you can drop in casually, it also stood out for its convenience for farewell and welcome parties, offering private half-room and full-venue rentals, a projector, and standing reception service.
Two newly opened kegs
The highlight this time was two newly tapped beers with very different styles.
- `South Window - Fenêtre sur les Tropiques` / `Dieu Du Ciel !`
- `Good Bad News` / `Threes Brewing`
`South Window - Fenêtre sur les Tropiques` is a Hazy Pale Ale. It is introduced as a beer with aromas of apricot and lime peel from Motueka, Citra, and Mosaic, balancing lightness with a dense hop character.
Meanwhile, `Good Bad News` is a West Coast IPA. Using Idaho 7, Citra, and Comet, it brings together dank citrus notes and tropical nuances with sharp bitterness and a clean finish. Being able to drink a hazy beer and a West Coast beer side by side is the main attraction of the day.
Tap list for the day
The day's `Today's BEER on TAP` also included the following beers.
- `Gekizaka Dark Mild Ale` / `Kanpai! × Matsumoto Brewery`
- `Lilac Coffee Stout` / `fete Mishima Brewery`
- `SHIJUKARA` / `Forest Brewing`
- `Viburnum` / `Vertere × Inkhorn`
- `cosmic tiger` / `open air`
- `TEMPEST` / `TAROS`
The lineup ranged widely from Dark Mild, Coffee Stout, Belgian White, Boysenberry Sour, Hazy IPA, to Double IPA, offering plenty of options from lighter styles to heavier ones. SOUL BIRD is set up for anyone who wants to compare multiple styles while pairing them with food.
If you're looking for craft beer in Hamamatsucho, this was a day to enjoy not only two new kegs but also the breadth of the tap lineup. From a drink after work to dinner with a few friends or even party use, SOUL BIRD was operating in a way that feels true to the venue.
