Sakura Taps, a beer pub on the second floor along Noreko Street in Yokohama’s Yoshidacho area, will open on Sunday, June 7 at 13:00 and close at 23:30. The bar is serving its Sunday-only food special, “Taco Rice Sunday!”, built around coarsely ground meat, plenty of vegetables, and house-made salsa. This week’s version is tuned a little spicier, making it an easy match for a late brunch or an evening pint.

Beer-wise, one new label is joining the board, bringing the total to eight taps. The selection covers a wide range of styles, from saison and IPA to dark beer and red ale, and it is clearly set up for pairing with food.

Sakura Taps is known as a Yokohama beer pub where guests can also enjoy coffee, so it works equally well as a daytime stop or a place to settle in for a proper tasting session. On this day, the combination of Sunday taco rice and a mixed tap list should make for a straightforward, beer-first visit with plenty to explore glass by glass.
