Beer Cafe Gambrinus in Kokubunji, located on the 6th floor of a building near the south exit, is taking part in the local Kokuvege Tomato Festa. The event runs from June 6 to June 14, and Gambrinus is serving its special menu until June 13.

The food lineup centers on three tomato dishes made with produce from Kokubunji: fried tofu with tomato, tomato dashi jelly, and a mini pizza topped with tomato. They are simple, seasonal plates that fit naturally with a round of craft beer.

The tap list spans a wide range of styles, from IPA and stout to lager and wheat beer. The day's fresh pours are Blue Classic / Tuatara [Hazy IPA] and Sakura Brewery / Black Magic Stout [Dry Stout]. Other beers on tap include Great Dane / Everyday IPA, Baird Beer / Suruga Bay IIPA, NOM Craft / Moon Calendar [West Coast IPA], Ise Kadoya Beer / Oni Shibori Lager [West Coast Pilsner], Black Tide / Full Power [Hazy IPA], Two Rabbits / Aussie Pale Ale, Hansharo Beer / Parallel World [Sake Yeast Beer], NOM Craft / Chikichiki Boon [Juicy Weizen], Johana Beer / Hikiyama Black [Black IPA], Hino Brewing / Hino Berry Ale [Fruit Ale], and Pilsner Urquell.

Coming soon: Koya Brewery / Wasou [Japanese Saison] and Outsider / The Counties [English Pale Ale]. For beer fans, this is the kind of stop where a local tomato campaign and a carefully built tap list can be enjoyed in the same visit.
