On May 7, Yokohama Bay Brewing’s Yokohama Front shop announced a new menu. The store is a directly operated beer pub on the second floor of THE YOKOHAMA FRONT, in a location that is easy to reach from Yokohama Station’s North West Exit. It is open all day from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., making it easy to drop in for a midday drink or an early evening pint.
The appeal of this shop is being able to enjoy Yokohama Bay Brewing’s own craft beer in a state close to fresh from the brewery. The tap lineup changes from day to day, but centered on the classic Bay Pilsner, you will find a broad selection ranging from lager to weizen to fruit beer, including Bay Weiss, Bay Dark, 13th Anniversary Yuzu Lager, German Pils, and Yuzu Weiss. For those who want to enjoy hop aroma, Old Fashion IPA and White Cat IPA are also strong contenders.
Also not to be missed are distinctive labels from the Bicycle Beer Series, such as Weekend Journey, Hill Climb, Uncle Rinne, Bunny Hop, and Freedom. On some days, the collaboration Kraftwerk West Coast Pilsner and the imported draft Pilsner Urquell are also available, making it very much a place where you can compare Yokohama local beer and guest beer at the same counter.
The interior has 35 seats, including counter seating, making it a comfortable fit for both solo drinkers and small gatherings. The food is structured to pair easily with beer, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, true to a directly operated shop. It is the kind of place to keep in mind when you want to choose from direct brewery taps according to your mood around Yokohama Station.
